When ministry and blogging meet...

Sometimes my music ministry and blog meet.

Friday night, my mother, Ila C. Knight Ministries, and I were special guests on a program called Nite Line on WGGS in Greenville, S.C. If you remember my "O Holy Night" at Christmas, it is the same show.

Through my mother, I met Meg, who also follows my blog and facebook page. She lives near the studio and came by with her son and daughter-in-law. She is the sweetest person for sure -- she brought us both flowers backstage. But she also brought me something else. She was very apprehensive about this gift. She kept telling me it was really old and rusty, and you all know I couldn't wait to see what it was.

And wow, was I surprised...

...three beautiful, vintage, stackable metal canisters!! Aren't they just perfect???

I could not wait to get them home because I just knew they would be perfect in my kitchen. I had been looking for some, but never found any that were right or in my price range. How thoughtful is that?

I am so thankful for the people I meet. There really is kindness and good in the world. Thank you Meg:-)

  4. Bloggers are some of the nicest, kindest, most gracious folks I "know". I proudly consider my blogging buddies "friends". It is wonderful to meet them in person. Those canisters are so sweet and perfect for you. xo

  6. That was thoughtful and they are lovely there! She must have truly been led to offer them to you.

I never knew, when I started blogging, that I would find friendships that I have, not to mention all the great inspiration. The picture you showed on FB today of the formal table set by the old building is one that has stayed in my mind ever since I found your blog. That combination of fancy with rusty and old is something you pull off so well, every single time.

Enjoy the coming autumn there in your mountains!

  7. Omigosh, Anita, these kinds of gifts are the absolute best! I'm surprised that you didn't get a speeding ticket on your way home to find the perfect spot for them. I know that you'll think of Meg and her sweet generosity each time you look at the canisters.
