Boho winter dining and new Moroccan lanterns

I guess I should get right to this since we seem to have moved from what should have been winter right on into summer. Considering the fires and drought this fall, I hate to think about what summer might be like here.  But, like Scarlett O'Hara, I'll worry about that tomorrow and for now, we'll visit the *winter* dining room.

I just didn't like the candle holders I had hanging here, (I had tried three different sets over the years), so I finally settled on these Moroccan lanterns. They came silver, so I rubbed on some gold paint because I wanted more of a brass look. I have remote controlled LED battery-powered candles that I can turn on for added ambience. I don't need the light, because we have recessed lighting, and I don't like the dining space too bright anyway.

I do love how they look and the added bling.

I particularly liked the larger scale of these and thought that was exactly what needed to be here.

On the table, I simply left the board and added different colors and shapes of candles. I have loved this all lit up at night too.

The gold dipped candle holders were heavily discounted down to $2.50 at Walmart after Christmas, so I picked up three of them.

Here are a few pics from earlier in the winter when I still had pine boughs everywhere. I just love how warm and inviting the room looks with all the colors together.

I hate to get rid of the candles, but I have to shoot a spring tour in the next few weeks, so I'm thinking they will not convey "spring." Where in the world does the time go anyway?

I love the bold, bright look in here and am really happy with the addition of the new lanterns. At least for now.
