Hi everyone! I wanted to share some photos from our anniversary dinner. I'll be linking up to "Tablescape Thursday" over at "Between Naps on the Porch," and for the first time to "Vignette Friday" over at Color Outside the Lines.
I really wanted something with some Spanish flavor, so my husband doesn't feel homesick! The closest thing I had was the Pier One "Vallarta" dinnerware. Remember from a previous post, that Dana from Ranch Dressing had some of this she was not using and sent it to me:-) There are some wonderful people here in blogland!
I layered the "Vallarta" salad plate over a Durand "Cristal D'Arques" ruby glass dinnerplate, and a Mikasa "Italian Countryside" dinnerplate as a service plate. I used a gold charger. The organza napkin came from Walmart several years ago. The gold napkin is from World Market.
I wanted a table for two that would show the base of the table, so I placed the settings at opposite ends of the table, over which I draped five yards of damask layered with a runner I made...
To keep the Spanish feel going, I put a potted palm in a vintage brass and pressed glass punch bowl...
The candle holders are also vintage and family heirlooms.
I am a firm believer that you can set a pretty table with whatever you have, so I have combined a water glass from Walmart with an LG Wright "Daisy and Button" amber wine glass, and a "Sandwich Glass" cordial by Tiara.
I used beautiful square serving platter Dana gave me along with a large serving bowl on the other side.
It started to get dark, so I knew a little candle light would be perfect!
In keeping with the gold accents, I used Oneida "Golden Julliard" stainless flatware.
For dessert I made a Hummingbird cake. I'll share that recipe later. For now, Happy Anniversary to my
sweetheart:-)
Anita

ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog. Regarding our daughters...I have had good results from inviting her friends to sit at a beautiful table. When her guests started raving about the tablescape, she all of a sudden began to show pride....and an interest in the art of tablescaping. I didn't have to say much at all. The next time that we entertained them, she wanted to participate in creating the design...and so it began. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteAnd I forgot to say....That runner is magnificent. It creates a marvelous cohesiveness for your beautiful tablescape. Aren't we blessed by such generous friends! The plates are lovely. Thank you for sharing your charming design. Cherry Kay
