First came the chickens...

When I mentioned that I would like to have chickens, a lovely couple from our church brought us 7 baby chickens. I have also mentioned that I would like fresh milk, but we have been fortunate enough to get raw milk from my cousin, but we do have some new cows.

These were my grandmother's and she always had them in the kitchen on a shelf near the windows. While looking for pink accents for my kitchen makeover,  I remembered these were still at my parent's house, so I borrowed them. Aren't they cute? I just love the little salt and pepper.

The blue mason jar belonged to my other grandmother who had a collection of these. It is filled with locally made soap from the Hazelwood Soap Company. This particular one has loofah in it. LOVE this soap:-) Be sure to check out their website.

I have this bar soap in the bathrooms and here in the kitchen.

...which is looking older and older.

Thanks for stopping by:-)

Anita, I didn't know if I could bear to see you remove the red ruffled sink curtain because I loved it so, but I like the new one too!

  • I love your kitchen and your cows look right at home. I also love the Hazelwood Soap Co. and have you found the new Robin Bleu shop right down the street? They have really cute things... new and vintage.

What a pretty little soap dish! I love your cows, too. How special that you remember them being in your grandmother's kitchen window! Honestly, the little cow on the left holding the plant is just too cute! I'm going to always have my eye looking for something like that, it just really made me smile!

    1. Yes Kathryn! I actually painted the walls in May a shade of aqua, then started painting the cabinets in a distressed grey on bottom, two sections of black and a walnut stain on one top section. Plus, I found so many new "old" things at my parents, that I have gotten rid of the Talavera pottery and am just using old things from the family. If I can just get some decent photos, I will reveal it:-)
