Summer Front Porch

I thought it was about time to show y'all my front porch -- before Fall arrives, right?

It seems like it took forever to get things pressure washed and cleaned up around here, but when it gets done we really, really enjoy it.

I really didn't do anything differently from last year.

I like to add a few plants and flowers to really just accent what nature already has delivered to our front porch.

I did buy this outdoor fabric from Jo Ann's and make this little pillow. I like something to add a pop of color against the black, and loved this pattern.

I made this *very* rustic wreath from grape vine out of the woods.

I added a few flowers from my mom's garden.

It's just as lovely at night, although we seem to be fighting the bugs more than usual this year. Probably because of the super mild winter.

This porch is only 6 feet deep, so it is definitely challenging to style, but we make it work and function for our family. And that's what it's all about:-)

  2. If I sat on your porch I dont think I'd ever want to get up. You should get The Best Porch Award. It's absolutely beautiful both day and night.

  3. Absolutely! Perhaps Autumn with the cooler nights will help with the bugs.
The fabric and flowers adds the pop of color. Looks very peaceful rocking away enjoying family, friends and nature.

  5. Your porch is beautiful, and thank you for showing a full length view of it. So many bloggers get bogged down in individual vignettes and forget to show us the entire space. You have such interesting items and they all work together. Love the cane-backed black rockers and the b/w rugs in front of each set of doors. It's delightful.

Wow. The porch of your home looks really amazing due to its decorative style and other things. I hope that it will be a perfect idea for us to decorate our porch in the same way as you did.

  10. I love your porch and as a fellow porch lover and porch sitter, I know I would enjoy spending time here. I too have a narrow porch but it doesn't stop us from rocking and relaxing. Thanks for sharing!
