I lamented about my love-hate relationship with the Duncan Phyfe chairs in this post and showed y'all some ideas I had floating around in my head. And some of you were very vocal about what I should -- or should not choose.
Well, y'all know I tend to go off in a direction of my own choosing so I didn't pick what I thought I would, but went what was probably my last choice.
I chose the black Eames-style molded chair with walnut legs.
Because I sold the other chairs, I was able to buy six of these from amazon.
We *really* like these chairs. They are super comfy and very sturdy. Luis has been using one for working when he sits at the table, so it passed *that* test.
The black and walnut coordinate with the wood and iron on my dining table without being too matchy-matchy.
I love that I can easily fit three chairs on each side, which was difficult with the old chairs.
So now I have tons of options with these, the side chairs and the bench.
I don't seat adults on the bench because it is too uncomfortable, but it will be easy to pull these up when we have adults for dinner.
I am also very happy that I went with black as they are neutral enough to go with anything, but have some cool mid-century style, which helps all the antiques I have look a bit more modern.
I'm super happy with my choice and love that I was able to basically swap them out for free by selling the other chairs.
And I got an entirely different look:-)
Love that.

ReplyDeleteAwww, I sold them on craigslist to someone who actually lived in Oregon but was visiting here in NC:-)
DeleteLove the black chairs. I used to own some orange ones years ago, and I was sorry once I sold them.
ReplyDeleteYeeeeeeees, my grandmother had two orange ones I would LOVE to have now!!
