Last week I showed y'all the evolution of the living area, which, by the way, got a whole new seating arrangement yesterday. But more on that later:-) Today I wanted to share the different looks in the kitchen over the years.

Metamorphosis of a living area...
I shared my summer living room yesterday HERE, so I was thinking about all the changes I have made over the last few years and thought it would be fun to revisit some of the different looks.
When we first moved into the house, it looked like this.

Summer blues...
I have been using blue for a while now since I painted the kitchen a couple years ago. I usually use it with pink, but decided to go with just blue as an accent for summer.

Blue and yellow summer kitchen
Oh how I love summer here in the North Carolina mountains. It's so beautiful here and we enjoy lots of late morning family breakfasts of homemade whole wheat pancakes with my mother's homemade strawberry jam. I do enjoy my kitchen in the summer and I have changed things up for this season like I always do.

Super Moon capture...
Luis captured this beautiful photo last night on the Blue Ridge Parkway near Waynesville, N.C., using a Canon Rebel T3 with a Canon 75-300 mm lens.
"...When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,
what is mankind that you are mindful of them,
human beings that you care for them?
You have made them a little lower than the angels
and crowned them with glory and honor.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands;
you put everything under their feet:
all flocks and herds,
and the animals of the wild,
the birds in the sky,
and the fish in the sea,
all that swim the paths of the seas.
Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!"
(From Psalm 8)

Capturing fireworks successfully...
I have never shot fireworks successfully, so when I headed out last night to shoot, Luis had already done some research for me so I had an idea what to try.

Independence...
This is a day so many think about parties, cookouts, family, and other fun activities we have available here in America. I can't help but think about the price that was paid for the freedoms we enjoy.

Random summer sneak peeks and a life lesson...
There is something about summer that really puts me in a vintage and retro kind of 1950s mood. Well, I'm always in that kind of mood:-) I have been working on a summer home tour so I thought I would share a few peeks.
My dad put these cars together years ago so I love to bring them out for my 8 year old to play with. I never know how they will be lined up.
