Carolina autumn porch

The leaves have just barely started to turn here in the North Carolina mountains

The weather has been just perfect -- beautiful crisp, cool mornings and Carolina blue skies throughout the day.

I wanted to do something different this year on the porch. No Big Lots scare crows, pumpkins, corn stalks, or mums.

Everything is natural and gathered from the property.

Wildflowers, leaves and moss...nature's decor at its best.

Here in the mountains, there is nothing better than a comfy place to sit and listen to the rustling leaves.

Loosely gathered boxwood and flaming azalea branches add a festive and unexpected touch to the black french doors.

A handmade grapevine wreath is accented with wildflowers ready to dry.

Autumn in the mountains -- letting nature provide the decor.

Anita, it's so pretty to see how you've changed up the porch for fall. All of your natural elements are so pretty. You have motivated me to get out and work on mine. It is so warm here still, even though we are getting a cool front this weekend. Not sure how long that will last. I could sit on your porch forever!

Beautiful and I don't think that it could have expressed it any better than you did with your last sentence....letting nature provide the decor. How blessed you are to live in such a diverse area that provides the beautiful things you have used on your porch. Can I come stay with you a while? ;)
