Mid-century china cabinet repurpose

Too much to do and not enough time. Does anyone else feel that way?? My dad and my husband say my mom and I lie awake at night thinking of projects to do, and they are absolutely right. We just don't have time to do them all.

Here is a little repurpose I did on a china cabinet my grandmother gave me years ago. It started out dark wood then I painted it white in the 1990s (imagine that) then it was red before getting a coat of black several years ago. It also started out with sliding glass doors.

The Italian aria...

As a young college student, I sang lots of Italian arias. Now, my 10-year-old daughter enjoys learning some of the same ones I sang. She is too shy to sing them in public, however.
Music is a big part of our family life and all three children love to "play" at the piano.
This is my antique piano...that I bought for $140 when I lived in Washington, D.C. I thought this corner needed a little glam makeover...you know-- opera style.

My mom's brass candelabra from Lebanon got some crystals from a chandelier, and the vintage ceramic lamp is topped with a burlap lampshade from my parent's attic.

Old plaster walls

There is nothing I love more than aged, plaster walls, and I have been wanting that look for years. I finally just did it.

I had some fabulous inspiration photos...

The $8 table...

Yes...it was $8 in a local junk/salvage shop.

But it didn't look like this when I got it.
