Summer front porch

The only thing I enjoy more than being on the porch first thing in the morning with my cup of coffee, is a quiet breakfast with my husband overlooking the creek.  Because I had my grandmother's antique iron patio set there, we couldn't really use this porch for anything as the furniture was old and slightly rickety.

So I searched locally and online and finally chose a super inexpensive outdoor bistro set at Walmart online. The three-piece-set was on clearance for $89, and when it arrived was really easy to assemble. I was so tired of beige, that I went with a bright green cushion, and I could not be happier. In fact, I'd love to have three more sets to place around the yard for entertaining -- if we actually entertained:-)

We have enjoyed several early breakfasts here, as well as an evening coffee.

Because I didn't want to leave the tempered glass table bare, I ordered 1 1/2 yards of this Waverly Sun N Shade Wailea Coast Ebony from fabric.com and was able to tie in the hot pinks, green and black that I love so much this season.  I love, love, love this fabric.

I love using outdoor fabric for table cloths, because it doesn't fade, is mildew and water resistant and I can leave it there with no worries. Plus, this tropical print was just what I needed to jazz things up out here.

I added an outdoor rug made from recycled water bottles, which started to fade after the first week, so they are sending me another one, which I will probably use on one of the covered porches.

I added a pink kilim pillow and a black and white tribal print pillow I made from fabric I ordered from Spoonflower. These are not made from outdoor fabric, so I don't leave them out.

I brought out my favorite everyday dinnerware, Franciscan Ivy and the pretty pink  Fostoria Moonstone and set the table, which is just the right size for two. The flatware is Mikasa Italian Countryside.

I painted my grandmother's iron set black and moved it to another spot, so it's still on the porch. The outdoor "bird" pillow was $5 on clearance in my local Walmart.

We are definitely enjoying this new bistro set, and I just don't think we could have beaten the $89 price tag.

I'll have more porch and outdoor spaces to share, but in the meantime, I'm going to grab a cup of coffee and enjoy this porch:-)

Has a tropical vibe, perfect with your property with all the green trees. A beautiful respite with your favorite dishes and fabrics. Cute pillow from walmart and a very good deal with the bistro set. Kathleen in Az
