Pumpkins, pumpkins and more pumpkins

Like I said in my last post, it's that time of year here, and I couldn't love it more:-) I am shooting for a Fall Tour this week and wanted to make sure I found some pretty squash and pumpkins, so I headed down to Bryson City, N.C., and Darnell Farms.

They are already in full-fall-mode there, and I found lots of local, fall inspiration, so I snapped a few iphone pics to share.

They even had the Cherokee Candy Roasters that my mother's family has been growing for generations to make our "Pumpkin Pies" out of for the holiday season ahead.

They also had mums, local cider, decorative squash, gourds, apples, canned goods, and the sweet girl behind the counter was cooking on a wood stove. They were also firing up the smokers so it smelled heavenly, and I love some North Carolina barbeque:-)

I also loved these huge white pumpkins, but I didn't buy any of those.

This is a working farm, so I couldn't have been more pleased to find my pumpkins and squash there. I used to grow a few, but they take up so much pace in the garden, I have not grown any the last few years.

I always like to support local and family farmers, so I'm sure I'll be back down to Darnell Farms again. If you are local or traveling through the area, make sure to stop by for your fall produce.

I have never been there but it sounds like a great place to visit this fall when the leaves are changing!

Jealous, no pumpkins in sight in the deep south yet! Love the vintage truck shot!

This is awesome, Anita! We don't have pumpkins out yet, as it is still really warm here. However, I am excited for Fall decorating. I am sure your tour will be amazing!
